Locust Borer (Megacyllene robiniae)
Mating pair of locust borer beetles on a goldenrod flower at Geode State Park in Henry County, Iowa. The adult locust borer is found during late summer and fall and is very similar to the Painted Hickory Borer (Megacyllene caryae) which emerges in the spring.
